Q: What if I have to cancel at the last minute?
I don’t believe the guests should be penalized for weather conditions or even their own late-in-the-process decision to cancel (I’d only charge a private client if they cancel on the morning of the tour in under an hour of their arrival and only IF I’ve already driven the rental vehicle off the lot; I charge what the rental company charges me).
Sure, there are costs of doing business that I incur. However, (a) cancellations are rare, so I consider it just a risk of doing business, (b) it’s only money, I’ll make more, and most importantly, (c) in life’s big picture, it’s not that serious!
Therefore, my ZERO-RISK CANCELLATION POLICY is:
Prepayments for my services are 100% FULLY REFUNDABLE (i.e., no cancellation fee whatsoever) if canceled for ANY reason even up to the morning of your tour (as long as I’ve not picked up the rental vehicle).
EXCEPTION: CHARTER FLIGHT CANCELLATIONS: The airline does not offer refunds if a charter flight is canceled less than 24 hours before departure. In such instances, I have no control over their policies.

Ever wonder what would happen to your online booking payment if your trip was canceled at the last minute? It happened to me and I certainly was glad I had booked my tour with Walt Goodrich [sic], Discover Saipan. Our cruise ship could not dock because of bad weather. Would our very large tour group get a refund? Even though this cancellation undoubtedly caused him and his team big problems and a lot of cash out-of-pocket, Walt was very gracious. I was impressed by his handling of the situation and his follow through. If booking tours over the Internet makes you the least bit uneasy, choose Discover Saipan. Everything about this business is first-class! You are in good hands with Walt!

Q: If there's a conflict with dates, can I join an existing tour?
Many of my WWII Pilgrimage guests have specific reasons for booking their private/customized tours. Some are retracing the steps of their fathers, others are in search of exact sites where photos were taken in 1944/45. Others are doing research to indulge specific interests and questions. Still others spefically want the flexibiility to start and end as their moods dictate. Consequently, combining tours would likely leave one or more parties feeling shortchanged.
